Synopsis
Demons.
They’re everywhere, hiding in plain sight. Chances are, you’ve interacted with one or two of them in your lifetime without even realizing it...
Demon hunter Evelyn Brighton saves unsuspecting humans from the malevolent creatures masquerading around them every day. Working under the Lebriga Corporation’s direction, she never fails to bring her A-game with her keen skill, fiercely independent spirit, and the best weapon in her arsenal: the Divinity blade.
Evelyn’s world is turned on its ear, however, when she is ordered to train cocky new recruit Daniel Summers. They both feel an instinctive pull drawing them to one another, the ancient spells tattooed into their skin illuminating whenever the two hunters come into contact. But with evil looming over the city of Los Angeles, Evelyn and Daniel’s mutual competitiveness and sense of duty to Lebriga and all humankind forces them to hold back their desires. Will their restraint be enough to keep them focused and save southern California, or will the dark forces prevail?
Set in modern-day Los Angeles, Divinity is an action-filled, fast-paced marriage of urban fantasy and paranormal romance. Edgy, witty, and sexy, it will bind you in its spell.

 My Review

**This review may contain a spoiler or two**

Divinity is a paranormal/supernatural romance novel that packs a punch. Eve, a hunter of demons and other paranormal baddies, works for the Lebriga Corporation with a handful of other hunters and various other important people to the company. Eve is also tattooed quite heavily, but each one not only means something, it's also protecting her from the creatures she hunts. She knows spell after spell to aid her in her goal to wipe the demons from the earth.

Enter Daniel. He's a newbie hunter transferred in from Nevada. He's also cocky and, much to Eve's frustration, gorgeous. But she refuses to even accept that she might be attracted to him, keeping herself focused on training him, getting his tattoos fixed so he's safeguarded when he goes on missions, and making sure he survives.

But, of course, one cannot deny fate. And it turns out, Eve and Daniel are, apparently, meant to be. However, the romance does take a bit of a back burner, which is a nice change and keeps the story interesting and fun. There's desire, denial, and determination. Maybe not in that order, but that's how I viewed it.

When Eve and Daniel are thrown together on what should be an easy mission, they discover something that worries not only them, but everyone at Lebriga. And when research turns up some seriously bad news, it's up to Eve, Daniel, and the others are the company to do whatever it takes to bring down the new evil that has risen. With the help of their very special Divinity blades, Eve and Daniel go to battle, hoping against hope that they can make it out alive.

I thought Divinity was an amazing read. It had me hooked right from the very beginning, and it didn't let go until the very end. Eve is a take-no-shit kind of gal who can kick ass as well as any man, but isn't afraid to admit(eventually) that she may need a little bit of help once in a while.

The characters are intriguing, and you can't wait to see what might happen to them next. It's a fun, intense ride, and if you're a fan of the show Supernatural, you will probably enjoy Divinity. Sexy hunters, demons and other paranormal baddies, and even awesome cars appear in this book.

I rate it 4/5 stars, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a paranormal romance that focuses a little more on the paranormal and a little less on the romance. Excellent read!

Please try not to spam posts with the same comments over and over again. Authors like seeing thoughtful comments about their books, not the same old, "I like the cover" or "sounds good" comments. While that is nice, putting some real thought and effort in is appreciated. Thank you.
