Book & Author details:

Sleeping Tom by E.V. Fairfall
Publication date: February 15th 2015
Genres: Contemporary, Romance, Young Adult

Synopsis:
Hitchhiking is a bad idea but Caden is desperate.
When she accepts a ride from the first car to come by she meets Gabriel. He’s her age, hot, and the closest thing she has to a savior. Problem is, he is a total jerk. With nowhere to go, Caden convinces Gabriel to let her stay with him for one night. He reluctantly lends a couch.
That night Caden wakes up to strange noises. Concerned, she rushes into Gabriel’s room, already anticipating his bad temper. Instead, he’s kind, sweet, and suspiciously harmless—nothing like the man who gave her a ride. He seems like a different person altogether, and claims he is. By night he is Tom, and by day he is Gabriel. Caden finds herself drawn to the mysteries hidden in his eyes.
For Gabriel, Caden is an annoying mistake. One night turns into many, and despite all his anger towards her, she stays. She even seems to accept him and his flaws, but he still doesn’t trust her—is she staying for him, or has she already discovered more than he’s willing to share?

AUTHOR BIO:
I love to write just as much as I love to read. I try to read a book per week, which doesn’t always work out, but it’s the thought that counts. Aside from all that I am a huge animal person.

Transformed is my first novel, but it isn’t my first publication; I’ve had several short stories published over the last two years. My main goal as a writer is to explore humanity and to give people something fun to read.

My Review
Sleeping Tom tells the story of a girl named Caden who has run away and is contemplating jumping off a bridge. That is, until she is discovered by Gabriel. Deciding to "save" her, just for one night, Gabriel takes her back to his place to stay. Soon, one night turns into many, and slowly, Caden begins to delve deeper into Gabriel's secret: he claims to be someone named Tom, but only at night. Can Caden discover the truth behind Tom, or will Gabriel keep her at bay? You'll have to read the book to find out.

So first off, I'd just like to say that when I first read the premise for Sleeping Tom, I was intrigued, although a smidge hesitant. I had read Transformed by E.V. Fairfall, and while I thought it was a decent read, it was a little...strange for me. However, I decided to give this book a chance. I'm so glad I did.

Sleeping Tom is a fascinating read with characters who are both likeable, unlikeable, and really well-written. The plot flows at a nice, steady pace and never really slows down enough to get boring or make you want to quit reading. It kind of sucks you in and doesn't let go until the end.

I rather enjoyed Caden and Gabriel together with their "relationship" in the story. Caden's mother and ex-boyfriend are both pretty crappy people. Her ex moreso than her mother, though. I also liked Caden and Tom bantering back and forth, although Tom was a bit hard to get attached to at first. He's very child-like and can be a bit frustrating at times.

I honestly think the idea behind the plot of the book is fantastic. It touches upon a subject that isn't really ever addressed in young adult novels or romance novels. Dealing with someone who seems to have a split personality is a very interesting premise, and I quite liked the way the book was written. It kept me involved and I couldn't wait to see how the book was going to end. Once it did, I was left wanting more. I'm definitely looking forward to the next book in the series.

Overall, I'd rate Sleeping Tom 4 stars. It's a really great read and I'd highly recommend it to everyone.
