She just wished she could trust him with her heart.
J. L. Petersen lives in Denver with her husband. She finds inspiration in her adopted state of Colorado and her belief love is the most powerful positive emotion we can experience.

Shane is the main male character. He is in his early thirties, well
over six feet with blue eyes that were surrounded by sandy blonde hair. Liz
sees his face as one that reminds her of a model on a historical
romance novel about a Scottish chieftain. His broad chest and arms looked like
they could be both menacing or comforting depending on his mood.
Liz is in her late twenties. Shane sees a woman he could
be attracted to. She was as knock out. Blonde, medium height and
in her late twenties. She is usually happy, radiant and kind with a
quirky sense of humor.
Snippet
Unable to resist her any longer, he
lowered his head and brushed his lips lightly across hers. He
felt her surprise but she didn’t pull back. Apparently, she felt the
punch of the kiss also. Lifting his head, he stared into her wide
eyes. Then he groaned, dropped his arm from the door jamb and used both to wrap
around her waist and pull her tightly to him before he went
back to her mouth. This time he sought entrance
past her lips. When she opened for him he lost all thought, felt the
blood pounding through his body. He went from zero to one hundred in nothing
flat.
