GENRE: Contemporary Romance

Belle Hamilton is a romantic at heart. She's engaged to the love of her life and dreams of marriage,
children and a happily ever after. Belle’s world is close to perfect until one afternoon she makes a
decision she can't take back.

In the blink of an eye, Belle’s life spirals out of control. She loses everything that is dear to her and is
forced to flee to the other side of the world where she meets Andrea, a local bartender from Rome,
and develops an unexpected connection with him.

Can they break through the complications of past hurts and a long-distance relationship to make
it work or will one terrifying night in Paris end it before it had a chance to begin?

Belle drove home along Victoria Road, the sun languishing to the west behind her.
When she’d left her parents’ house, her mother had pressed a container of lemon cake into her
 hands with a sad smile.

‘I’m sorry, darling,’ she’d said, with sincerity. ‘I was hoping the conversation would’ve gone a little

Belle had hoped so too. She was still no closer to knowing what was going on in Ben’s mind than
when the day had started. Her father had said that they’d had nothing in common but didn’t she
already know that? Wasn’t that what made them great together? He with his law degree, suits and
ambitious nature, she with her quirkiness, braids and sneakers. Ben had once loved her for all those
things, had loved that she was so different from him. Why had it now caused a divide as great as
an ocean to come between them?

The exit to Darling Street was approaching, and while she was deciding whether or not to take it,
she found herself sailing straight by. There was suddenly no doubt in her mind. She was sick of trying
to guess what Ben was thinking. He was responsible for this, he should be the one to explain himself.

She drove along the Western Distributor Freeway toward the city and took the Allen Street exit.
She turned onto Ben’s street, drove past the little Italian deli on the corner, down the street of
Victorian terraces, and came to a halt behind the black BMW. She climbed out of her car and up
the front steps, her heartbeat quickening in her chest.

If the mountain won’t come to Muhammed …
