Night Night, Sleep Tight
A Horror Anthology

Presented by Enchanted Anthologies

Warning - These stories are not for the faint-hearted. This anthology is
intended for readers aged 18+.

'When you wake up randomly in the night, there's a good chance someone or
something was watching you'
A bump in the night wakes you, the jolt just as you're about to sleep
could be something much more sinister than you thought, the sound
outside your window is much more than a branch knocking in the wind,
and no, you didn't imagine that shadow in the corner of your eye...
Night Night, Sleep Tight explores the horrific things that happen at night,
from sleep paralysis to monsters hiding under the bed.
So, Night Night, Sleep Tight, and don't let them get you...

Introduction by R. L. Weeks
Under my Bed - Erin Lee
Butcher's Wife - K. L. Roth
Embers and Ashes - Mary Duke
Villisca Unraveled by A. Maslo
The Pendant by Lorah Jaiyn

Night Night, Sleep Tight is a horror anthology comprising of six short, novella-esque scary stories. Each one is written by a female author, which I think is awesome.

The first story, The Sleeping Ones, is more of an introduction. It's really short and involves ghosts. I thought it was a decent way to start out. If your mind is overactive like mine tends to be, this story might creep you out. Are those shadows lurking in the dark normal, or are they something much more sinister?

Under My Bed is the second story. It was a bit strange. I felt a bit confused while reading it, and I wasn't sure if I was going crazy or not. It's an odd story, and I don't really know how I felt about it. It's about monsters under the bed.

Story three is called Villisca Unraveled. It's about a group of writers who decide to go to a house where axe murders occurred. Needless to say, these writers get a whole lot more than inspiration. It's definitely a fun read. I really liked the way it ended. Kinda crazy.

Story four is called Butcher's Wife, and it was the scariest one of all, at least for me. It has a Bloody Mary-esque vibe, and boy oh boy, does it deliver on the creepy factor. I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Girls with a prank video channel decide to summon a demon. What could go wrong?

Embers and Ashes is the fifth story. It was a bit strange, too. Shifters, vampires, and girls turning up dead, stitched back together after being sliced open. Yikes! I wasn't overly keen on this story. It's okay, but wasn't really my cup of tea.

The sixth and final story is called The Pendant, and it's probably my favorite one. It's got a twist to it that I really liked, and it's also a fun read. Definitely didn't expect it to go the direction it did, but I enjoyed how it played out. I won't spoil anything about this one, though. You'll have to read it to see why I liked it so much.

Overall, I found two of the stories to be really good reads, two of them were just okay, and two of them were a little underwhelming for me.

Night Night, Sleep Tight is a decent anthology, though, and if you enjoy short horror stories, you might like to give it a whirl.

I'm rating it 3.5 stars.

Lorah Jaiyn
My stories vary from sweet and romantic to whimsical and mischievous, to
temperamental and moody. My fervent imagination makes all of my projects different.

I started to focus on my writing career after developing a nasty case
of empty nest syndrome. My stories have appeared online at
Speculative 66, 101 Words, Our Write Side, and Dark Chapter Press, as
well as in anthologies published by Rhetoric Askew and Our Write
Side. I have several anthology projects in the works, several working
with various charities. 'Whisper of an Angel' is my first full length
romance novel, but I have many more in progress that cover different
genres, each blended with a romantic element.

I spend my days behind a desk, and try to write in the evenings while
entertained by my greatest distraction,my Jack Russell. I enjoy
creating with polymer clay, hiking and exploring the great outdoors.
I spend time volunteering at a local wildlife rescue and am a total
Hallmark Channel addict.
