Author Information
As my daughter got older we used to (and still do) tell each other stories in the car about our family dog
Scamp. Scamp had been neglected as a puppy and was rescued by my parents and became our family pet.

He was a little bit crazy (he used to try and get up on the table to lick up crumbs after a meal) but he was
always happy to see you and always there for a cuddle whenever anyone needed one.

In many ways he was more like a human being, standing up on his back legs, drinking cups of tea out of a
cup off the coffee table.

So I decided to write some of our stories down to share with others, the first one being Scampy Doodle and
the Reindeer.
the Reindeer.
My Review
Scampy Doodle and the Reindeer is an adorable children's book with a cute holiday theme.
The story is about a dog named Scampy Doodle who helps his human, Jemima, decorate
and get ready for Christmas. They leave out snacks and a drink, and then settle in for the night.
But when Father Christmas shows up... well, you'll just have to read the book to see what
happens next!
I found the story to be fun and sweet. It's also got a good lesson about helping others
and being selfless. I really liked the illustrations as well. They were cute.
I did find it a bit interesting that Scampy and Jemima left Father Christmas some whiskey,
but after doing some research on holiday customs in other countries, it makes sense.
Brits tend to leave FC a mince pie and alcohol to ward off the chilly weather while he travels.
I'm sure there are Americans who leave alcohol out for Santa, but US tradition is usually
milk and cookies, which is also a good choice.
I was just a little surprised to see whiskey mentioned in a kid's book.
Overall, I enjoyed reading Scampy Doodle to my son (although he only cared about the pictures),
and I'd recommend it as a fun little holiday read.
Four stars!
