In the last volume of the Fourth Talisman series, the worlds of the living and the dead collide in a final confrontation that will leave Nocturne and Solis forever changed….
Three talismans adrift.
Two mad kings.
One poisonous crown.
As dark forces gather at the Rock of Ariamazes in Samarqand, Nazafareen discovers that there are worse places than the afterlife. The twisted creature pulling the Vatras’ strings is holed up in the deepest level of the Dominion—and only she has the power to follow him there, though at the potential cost of her own soul.
Prophecy claims the three daeva clans must unite to face their greatest enemy again, but two of the talismans have vanished and the third is a child more used to skulking in the shadows than leading an army. Meb the Mouse might be their last hope—if anyone bothers to take her seriously.
And within the confines of the Rock, a dying king makes a pact with the devil, setting in motion a chain of events that could spell doom for friends and foes alike.
WARNING: This book contains twists and turns, richly deserved comeuppances, shocking revelations, knock-down, drag-out fights, obsessive stalkers, some very nasty monsters…and, of course, true love.
My Review
Inferno is the fifth and final book in the Fourth Talisman series, and boy is it a doozy. What an ending! Everything comes to a head in this finale, and by the time it's over, you'll be left breathless and awed. It's that good.
I have to admit, when I first went into this series, I wasn't sure what to expect. I hadn't read The Fourth Element trilogy, nor did I expect to really enjoy this series because it was a genre I normally didn't get into. I'm so glad I did, though. Reading this series has been one of the best decisions I've made, and I'm so glad I took a chance on it.
Now, I honestly don't want to spoil anything, especially for readers who are still getting into the series, so I'll try and keep my review vague and spoiler-free.
As I stated above, everything comes to a head in this final showdown between the Vatras and the other clans. The three others must unite to take down the vicious fire clan once and for all.
I found myself on the edge of my seat, holding my breath at times, waiting anxiously to see how scenes would play out.
Meb was fantastic. Her character went from being this shy, mousey little thing to an amazing badass. I loved her so much.
Nazafareen had an interesting journey throughout this book as well. She took on some serious evil and became...well, I won't spoil that.
There was so much going on with all of the characters. I felt like their stories were all wrapped up nicely, although I did feel the story itself was rushed in some spots. Nothing major, but I would've liked the pace to slow down a bit at times.
Overall, though, Inferno was an epic finale that made me wish it never had to end. I loved this series so much, and I'd highly recommend it to everyone.
I'm rating Inferno 4.5 stars!
