Chasing Graves by Ben Galley - Guest Blogger Book Review
Meet Caltro Basalt. He’s a master locksmith, a selfish bastard, and as of his first night in Araxes, stone cold dead.
They call it the City of Countless Souls, the colossal jewel of the Arctian Empire, and all it takes to be its ruler is to own more ghosts than any other. For in Araxes, the dead do not rest in peace in the afterlife, but live on as slaves for the rich.
While Caltro struggles to survive, those around him strive for the emperor’s throne in Araxes’ cutthroat game of power. The dead gods whisper from corpses, a soulstealer seeks to make a name for himself with the help of an ancient cult, a princess plots to purge the emperor from his armoured Sanctuary, and a murderer drags a body across the desert, intent on reaching Araxes no matter the cost.
Only one thing is certain in Araxes: death is just the beginning.

Jennifer's Review
It's a very good book. Very cool to read.
It's about this man who is on his way to an appointment when he is killed and becomes a ghost, or shade as they are known. He wants so badly to become human that he misbehaves, and as punishment he is captured after trying to run an errand for a man(shade) named Vex.
While he is trying to do what is expected of him, a wife who had killed her husband and made him a shade and wants to bind him in the Nyxwell is on her way to Araxes. She encounters problems of her own.
The second book will pick up from the end and tell us what happens next.
Who captured Caltro the shade, and what happens to the wife and her husband?
3 stars.

Please try not to spam posts with the same comments over and over again. Authors like seeing thoughtful comments about their books, not the same old, "I like the cover" or "sounds good" comments. While that is nice, putting some real thought and effort in is appreciated. Thank you.
