1. What is the first book that made you cry? -
A - Little Women. I was nine years old and sobbed at Beth’s death. And interestingly, years later, I went into my ten-year-old daughter’s bedroom to tuck her in and kiss her goodnight only to find her sobbing at Beth’s death, too.

8. Do you have any advice for aspiring writers? -
A - Get started! Procrastination is the writer’s enemy. Just chuck everything down and get the book written and then go back and edit. But you can spend forever trying to get the first chapter perfect and never move on to the rest of the book. And write a book you would want to read.
