My Review
Creative Writing Skills is an activity book geared towards younger kids (ages 7-13, I'd say) that is designed to help them expand their imaginations and write a story/become an author. Each chapter tackles a different "lesson" in writing, such as character development, setting, plotting, and dialogue. There are tips to use when creating your story, as well as fun activities you can do to help stretch your imagination or even use as a group activity with family/friends.
It's a fun activity book that will push creative boundaries and help kids learn to create stories that are magical, fantastical, silly, spooky, and more.
I really liked how the book was split into different chapters that focus on the different sections of writing. I feel that makes it easier for kids to ease into writing.
I also like that the book, even though it's geared for younger kids, can benefit older kids and even adults as well. I know, if I had something like this as a kid, it would have been so beneficial to me (especially because I always had new ideas, but struggled to actually write them out; I still do as an adult, even though I do have one published novella to my name).
I would definitely recommend Creative Writing Skills to parents with creative kids, kids who love making up stories/writing stories, and anyone who may want to learn something new (even if they never go on to write a book).
5 stars from me!

Please try not to spam posts with the same comments over and over again. Authors like seeing thoughtful comments about their books, not the same old, "I like the cover" or "sounds good" comments. While that is nice, putting some real thought and effort in is appreciated. Thank you.
