My Review
Brad Was Sad is a sweet children's book that teaches kids it's okay to be sad sometimes. Having bad days. Feeling angry or upset or sad or grumpy is normal (especially if someone says something mean to you). Learning to deal with your emotions, even the bad ones, is a must for young kids, especially.
Discovering that he can choose to overcome his sadness and hurt after seeing how happy his dog is (even after being scolded), Brad learns a valuable lesson.  If his dog doesn't let his emotions get the best of him, then Brad, too, can learn to channel his negative emotions into positive ones.
I think this is a great book with a good life lesson for kids. Parents will enjoy the easy-to-read and follow rhyming scheme the story has going on, and kids will enjoy looking at the lovely illustrations.
I'd recommend Brad Was Sad to everyone, but especially parents with young kids. Teaching them to handle their emotions in a good, positive way is something beneficial that will stick with them for life.
4 stars!
