Lottie Sparkles Magical Discovery

Who wouldn't like a magical jacket?
Lottie Sparkles is a little girl who loves everything sparkly, mainly clothes. Anything plain or dirty is a disgrace in Lottie s mind! When Lottie is sent to spend time with her lovely grandparents in the countryside, she is furious because that essentially means smelly animals, lots of puddles and hard work! But what she certainly didn't count on was coming face to face with a magical object.

My Review
Lottie Sparkles' Magical Discovery is an interesting children's book. It feels like it's written for slightly older children (mainly girls; maybe between the ages of 6-10), mostly because of how Lottie Sparkles acts.
She's a bit of a fashionista, and she loves her sparkly, glittery clothing. Dresses, hats, shoes... you name it, she has it.
Unfortunately for Lottie, she's being sent to her grandparents' farm for a vacation. This makes her angry, because everyone knows you can't wear sparkly dresses on a farm. What were her parents thinking?!
Once on the farm, Lottie has it so rough (this is where I rolled my eyes) because the animals take a liking to her shiny, sparkly clothing and steal it from her. She's then forced to wear *gasp* plain, boring clothing.
But then she finds something in the attic that changes everything. What happens next?
I actually found Lottie to be a snobby, spoiled little brat. She acts like anything that isn't sparkly is beneath her, and her attitude towards her grandparents is a bit rude. I didn't particularly care for her.
I know kids that age tend to act a bit fussy about a lot of things, but Lottie was a bit over the top with her reactions.
I did appreciate that her grandparents were nice, normal people, although I feel like they could have stepped in and said, "Hey, a little farm work never killed anyone. Get over it." Maybe that's just me, though.
I also did like the mysterious object Lottie finds (and the cat guarding it; what's up with him?), and I think that's something that will appeal to all kids. Who wouldn't want something like that?
The story itself is an entertaining read, and kids will like discovering the magical secrets hidden in the attic right along with Lottie.
4 stars from me.

Author Bio –
The author loves everything sparkly and glittery but hopefully, she says, she is not a diva like Lottie from her book. Aside from all the glitz and glamour, she is a collector of magical books, tea sets, movies and a huge fan of chocolate. She has two little girls also known as "The Little Book-Fairies" with a BIG imagination.
