My Review
Redeeming the Reclusive Earl is a historical romance that will have readers swooning over the gruff on the outside but sweet on the inside Max. When he returns home to his new estate, he discovers a woman trespassing on his land, and to make things worse, she's digging holes! Unfortunately for Max, Effie isn't a meek, mild-mannered woman who knows her place. She's a bit odd. She refuses to be cowed. And she seemingly knows just how to get under his skin to make him realize that maybe being a recluse isn't how he should spend the rest of his life.
I really enjoyed this book. It was fun. It was sassy at times (Effie's an intelligent sort, and her banter with Max always made me smile). And it made me happy.
Max is a great guy, even when he's threatening to sic dogs on Effie to chase her off his land. And Effie is a bit of a spitfire. Max's sister Eleanor is also entertaining, and she relishes the chance to play matchmaker between the two.
I was thrilled that Max was so taken with Effie, unlike most men who happen to feel like an intelligent woman is offensive. And the way he helps her with the stuffy archaeological society is pretty darn awesome. I do love a story with a lovely happy ending.
4 stars from me!

Author Bio – When Virginia Heath was a little girl it took her ages to fall asleep, so she made up stories in her head to help pass the time while she was staring at the ceiling. As she got older, the stories became more complicated, sometimes taking weeks to get to the happy ending. Then one day, she decided to embrace the insomnia and start writing them down. Despite that, it still takes her forever to fall asleep.
