My Review
The Warrior Knight and the Widow is an intense, steamy historical romance that will make readers swoon. Stubborn Ellena is being escorted back to her father's castle -- reluctantly, of course -- by a man nicknamed The Beast because of his scarred face and intimidating manner. But Ellena is also being pursued by a man determined to marry her, regardless of what she wants, because he's her father's enemy, and snatching her away, along with her land so he has the upper hand, is his ultimate goal. Can Ellena stay safe from both men, or will one of them live up to his nickname?
I really enjoyed this book. Although Ellena did frustrate me at times with her fussiness, I thought she was a great character. She's stubborn, sure, but she's also intelligent, strong, and independent, and all she wants to do is live her life and keep her freedom now that her evil husband has passed away. She's adamant that she can convince her father to leave her be, even though he has other plans for her. I liked that she was determined to stick to her guns, no matter what.
I also thought Braeden was a lovely character. He may come off as rough and intimidating, but underneath, he's just a vulnerable softy who wants to be loved for who he is rather than what he looks like. He's also quite protective, and occasionally vexing, and that made him likable to me.
The plot does get a bit dark and intense at times, but it's a thrilling read that will hook readers and keep them turning the pages, eager to see how Ellena and Braeden's story plays out.

Author Bio – Ella Matthews lives and works in beautiful South Wales. When not thinking about handsome heroes she can be found walking along the coast with her husband and their two children (probably still thinking about heroes but at least pretending to be interested in everyone else).
