Author Interview
1. Favorite childhood memory involving books?
I was a kid with a speech pathologist. My first memory of falling in love with a book would be, Bridge of Terabithia. I remember reading it and my Speech Path would ask me to describe what I read, I could imagine it in my mind as I read it. That is when I fell in love with reading. But it wasn't until college, when I dove head first into reading after finding romance novels.

2. Did you want to be an author when you grew up?
No, I have always wanted to be a mother. As long as I remember, I wanted to be a mom. I have always journaled but if you would have told me that someday I would have published a book, I would have laughed thinking you were telling me a joke.

3. If you had to describe yourself in three words, what would they be?
Stubborn, I don’t give up easily.
Passionate, I am very passionate in whatever I do.
Funny, I like to put smiles on faces, so, I am usually cracking jokes.

4. What is your most unusual writing quirk?
I write with my headphones on and most of the time, I don’t even have music playing.

5. What is the first book that made you cry?Gosh, I couldn’t even tell you. I have had a lot of books make me cry. I am a bit of a bawl baby. I cry over anything. My husband like to watch me on commercials because I cry so easily.
6. How do you select the names of your characters? This is one of my favorite parts. I try to gauge a feel of the character, then, I spend several hours on baby names websites. Some times if I hear a name somewhere and I like it, I will write it down.
7. What fictional character would you want to be friends with in real life?Kricket from Amy Bartol’s trilogy, the Kricket series. She is a bad ass.
8. Tell us 10 fun facts about yourself! One, I prefer large doggies over small ankle biters. (It’s not that I don’t like them, I just prefer large dogs) which is probably because since my husband and I started dating, we have always had St. Bernards or Mastiffs.
Two, I love kids. I have always wanted several (I always said 20+) but my husband won the argument and we had only two.
Three, I could never live in town. I have been on a farm most all my life.
Four, I had open heart surgery at the age nine and I was diagnosed with type-one diabetes at the age eleven.
Five, I graduated from a class of fourteen.
Six, I had my own business for eight years before staying home to care for my son who was born with DYRK1A and Cerebral Palsy. He was never supposed to be able to walk and he was taught us all that no one can tell you what you are capable of. He is my inspiration.
Seven, More times than not, I burn the pizza.
Eight, if I had to pick between wine or a beer, I will pick a beer and make it into a red beer.(Add tomato juice)
Nine, I love plants and have a house full of them. In the summer, you can find me walking bare feet in the garden as I pick vegetables and toss them in my mouth before they ever make it to the table.
Ten, I always try to pick up the phone whenever someone calls me, you just never know what they may need, so I answer.
9. What is your favorite genre to read?Of course, Romance.
