My Review
The Heir is book two in the Spinners Saga, and it continues on from where book one, The Telling, left off. Elian and Blaine are separated; Elian is safe in the land of Vestia, but Blaine is being held hostage in a "zoo" run by ogres. Her memory is gone, and her magic has been subdued. But with the help of a half-breed and a mysterious man, Blaine escapes and makes her way back to Elian. Once together again, Blaine must get her memories back and continue her journey with Elian to save the Book from the clutches of evil...before it's too late.
I was definitely a fan of The Telling, and so I was eager to see how The Heir would play out. It was definitely an interesting read. There are secrets, lies, and betrayal, but also a budding romance, and some intriguing truths get revealed. The journey is perilous, and at times it seems hopeless, but Elian and Blaine (and their small group) are willing to do whatever it takes to protect the Book.
I will say, a couple of spots throughout the story were a little slow for me, but I powered through them, and it all paid off. There is a lot going on, and a few new characters, but it's pretty easy to keep up with everyone. I think my favorite new character is Senna.
And that ending...
It makes me wonder what might happen in the next book. I'm definitely curious and will be continuing along with the series. Looking forward to book three!
4 stars from me!

ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a great book. How long did it take you to write it?
ReplyDeletePlease try not to spam posts with the same comments over and over again. Authors like seeing thoughtful comments about their books, not the same old, "I like the cover" or "sounds good" comments. While that is nice, putting some real thought and effort in is appreciated. Thank you.
