Malakai, Seattle, Present Day
With the betterment of both Michael and Rae, Malakai was glad that they were well and fine;
nevertheless, he needed some time to decompress. All the magical commotions that had occurred
were too overwhelming for him. He needed some sort of release.

He enjoyed the brisk jog in the park, as he cut through the sharp wind of the cold night.
But this did nothing to lift his spirits. He was happy that Amber’s smile finally met her eyes.
That was all he’d ever wanted for her: happiness, that’s it. There was nothing more he could ask for—
she was his priority. Yet, in the back of his mind, as in his heart, he couldn’t help but believe the
ancient legend that he’d heard so long ago was the certifiable truth,
as it was written in Eschmun’s scroll.
But this did nothing to lift his spirits. He was happy that Amber’s smile finally met her eyes.
That was all he’d ever wanted for her: happiness, that’s it. There was nothing more he could ask for—
she was his priority. Yet, in the back of his mind, as in his heart, he couldn’t help but believe the

AUTHOR INTERVIEW
1. What is the first book
that made you cry?
When I was about 12, I read
“Ordinary People” by Judith Guest. That
was the first time I read a book that talked about a family’s pain and struggle
with the loss of a son.
2. How long, on average, does it take you to write a book?
It really depends. I can be a perfectionist, so that hinders me
in taking more time. From start to
finish, it took me about 8 months to write Queen’s Ascension but that was
because I was working a lot and I redid the ending about 6 times.
3. What are your top 5 favorite movies?

A Tree Grows in Brooklyn
Dracula
4. Tell us 10 fun facts about yourself!
1.
I’m an adrenaline
junkie.
2.
I tend to be a gym
rat.
3.
I have a really cool
fascinating heritage on both parents’ side.
My mother grew up in Germany during World War II and my father’s side
was Hawaiian/Filipino. I am Royal
Hawaiian.
4.
I can be a
nerd! So are my kids. They are extremely gifted.
5.
As soon as traveling
is safe, the next trip is to Scotland.
Romania will be upcoming too.

I live by a motto
(and raised my kids this way) – to live by honor, integrity, respect, trust,
loyalty and perseverance. It helped mold
me into the person I am today.

My favorite animal
is the tiger, preferably a white tiger.

I wanted to be an
astronaut, growing up.

I love to cook and
bake. I can make some amazing dishes.

I’m a personal
fitness trainer and nutrition coach in addition to everything else.
5. If you could live in any time period, what
would it be and why?
I would have to say I would really love to live during the time of King Henry VII. I wouldn’t mind King Henry VIII either but the way Henry took the Crown to begin the Tudor line is absolutely one of my favorite historical moments. He pledged to marry a York, should he win and he did marry Elizabeth. A lot of people don’t realize that he wanted to avoid wars at all costs and restored stability to England after the war. He even was thrifty in his spending and preferred to create new revenue streams. To me, it was the foundation of a significant change in English History.

As a little girl, scary tales about vampires, werewolves, angels, demons, and witches were my favorite
kind — much to my mother's dismay.

far from Hawaii's majestic beaches with unusual colors.
Nothing compares to the landscapes of Maui, Lanai, or Oahu.
But somehow, Seattle stole my heart anyway. It became the place where my love for stories took
on a new form, in a book of my own: The Adventures of Little Arthur and Merlin the Magnificent.
This book is for kids who love stories, just like I did.

One night, my mind began to work overtime. In a dream, I saw a unique storyline involving all the
races and an epic battle of good versus evil. It was a modern day plot with a three thousand year old
prophecy, The Blood Prophecy. I finished the first book in 2014, The Queen's Destiny.
Two years later, I released The Queen's Enemy. The last book in the series, The Queen's Ascension,
released on August 17, 2020.
