My Review
When Angels Fear is one of those books that starts off intriguing, keeping you invested, and then BAM! It takes a turn and becomes something a lot darker and crazier than expected.
I knew, going into this book, that it would be interesting and have some strange goings-on happening throughout, but I definitely was not ready for the grim, almost hopeless feeling the story took on after a bit. It's a book that will have you saying, "What else could these characters suffer through next?" And then... well, I won't spoil anything, but it gets a little bleak.
I did enjoy the story. It was well-paced and kept me engaged throughout. I thought the characters were all nicely done, and I could relate to Emma in some ways myself.
I do think my favorite character was the doctor, Robbie Mason.
There is one point where a couple of the characters do/say something, and for whatever reason, I hadn't put two and two together, so that "twist" kind of hit me and I was like, "Oh my God! Why didn't I realize that sooner?"
And that ending? I have to admit the last sentence in the book made me laugh. So at least there was a small touch of humor there to lighten things up right at the very end.
Overall, I think When Angels Fear is a solid supernatural thriller that will keep readers on their toes. It's definitely tense and nerve-wracking at times, but it's well worth the read.
4.5 stars!

Please try not to spam posts with the same comments over and over again. Authors like seeing thoughtful comments about their books, not the same old, "I like the cover" or "sounds good" comments. While that is nice, putting some real thought and effort in is appreciated. Thank you.
