The Toot Fairy is a silly children's book about a little fairy who decides she wants to become a tooth fairy. On her big day, she goes to the wishing well and asks to become...a toot fairy. Oops!
Her mispronunciation calls forth an old, retired male fairy who takes her under his wing (ha!) and explains how to be the best toot fairy she can be.
This is such a fun little book. Young readers will find the rhyming scheme easy to read and follow along with, and the illustrations are colorful and whimsical. They bring the story to life and give it a magical feel.
I rather enjoyed the cute absurdity of the story, and I would read this to my kiddo again and again.
5 stars!

Cheesemaker Durdsden could hardly be called a cheesemaker, with how bland,
rubbery, and flavorless his cheese tasted. And so, in order to better his
skills and silence the critics, he went in search of any and every
cheesemaking technique he could learn. That way, he could make cheese to be
envied by every cheesemaker, and savored by every cheese enthusiast. Now
he's back with new skills, and some suspiciously delicious--deliciously
suspicious--cheese to prove it. How could a man with such boring cheese
before now make this tasty cheesy treat? You'll never guess what fabled
creature holds the secret to Cheesemaker Durdsden's sudden success!
MY REVIEW
Cheesemaker Durdsden is a fun children's book that follows a young man as he journeys away from his town to discover the secrets of becoming the best cheesemaker ever. On his return, his cheese becomes the most popular in town, but soon, his secret for making it is revealed. What is it? Read and find out.
This book is a bit gross. But also silly and, dare I say, cheesy. I enjoyed it. Young readers will be able to follow along with the easy rhyming scheme, and the illustrations will draw the eye, making it even more fun and wonderful.
I'd recommend it to parents of young readers, especially those kiddos who enjoy things that make you go "eww."
5 stars!
About Mark:
Mark Huffman writes about our shared human experiences, which is a
pretentious way to say that he writes about toots and bottoms and food. He
prepared for writing children's books by spending much of his early life as
an actual child. Unlike other children's authors he might name who have
spuriously claimed the title, he is a real doctor. He lives with his family
in Texas.
