Crab, Dab
& Blenny is a fun, rhyming picture book about
the serious theme of plastics in the ocean.
Crab, Dab & Blenny is a book that celebrates friendship and the vast variety of life that exists in a quiet rockpool. Perfect for early readers or as a bedtime story for four- to eight-year-olds.

My Review
Crab, Dab & Blenny is a cute children's book that showcases a message about saving the environment. The story takes place in a rockpool filled with a variety of sea life. Crab lives there along with his friends Dab and Blenny. Most of the sea critters, including Dab and Blenny, are happy with the way things are, but Crab finds things a bit dull.
When the rockpool starts filling up with plastic and other junk, Crab is thrilled. He loves the bright colors of everything that floats his way. Dab and Blenny, and the other sea creatures, are very unhappy with all of the litter, though.
When Blenny gets entangled in some twine that lands in the rockpool, none of the other creatures know what to do to help him. But Crab comes to the rescue, as that's what good friends do. Only...Crab is unable to help Blenny. What happens next? You'll have to read and find out.
I thought this was a sweet, easy to read story for young readers. The illustrations are bright and engaging, and the message the story relays is a good one. I think this is a good way to introduce kids to keeping the ocean/beaches clean and free from litter. It's never too early to start protecting the environment.
It's also a story of friendship and working together. That's also a good thing for young readers to see play out in a story like this.
I'd recommend the book to readers of all ages.
