My Review
Siggy Loves Sausages is a cute children's book about a little dachshund named Siggy.
Not only does Siggy look like a little sausage, he also loves to eat them.
One day, while out and about, Siggy sees a bag floating through the air. He hears a cry for help and decides he's going to chase the bag down to bring it back to its owner.
Siggy journeys through his village, meeting different people, all while trying to catch the bag before it blows away for good. Along the way, there are some magical secrets that get revealed. But can Siggy finish his task before it's too late?
I thought this was a cute book. I was expecting something about a dog who loves to eat sausages, but instead I got an adorable book about a little sausage dog who does a good deed and gets rewarded for it. I was pleasantly surprised. The only thing I wasn't 100% sure about was the magical aspect. It sort of came out of nowhere, but it doesn't detract from the story at all. I think kids will like that aspect.
The illustrations are fun, and the story itself is a quick, easy read. What's not to love?
I'd recommend this book to young readers (and parents of young readers) who love dogs (and sausages!) and want to read something silly that also offers a lovely lesson about being kind and helping others.
4.5 stars!
