The Sand Pounder by M.J. Evans - Book Tour + Giveaway
Which Character Would I Be?
I am often asked which of my twenty-one books is my favorite and out of those books, which is my favorite character? That is such a hard question. It is like asking a mother which of her children is her favorite! However, there are some characters that I can relate to especially well. In this case, I have to say that Jane, in “The Sand Pounder,” would be the most like me.
First, Jane is
an avid equestrian. I was born with manure in my blood and have always loved
horses. My parents did their best
on a limited budget to allow me to pursue my passion and allowed me to start taking riding lessons when I was eight.
They allowed me to buy my own horse when I was thirteen with the stipulation that I needed to support
it myself. Working to pay the horse bills kept me out of trouble and taught me the value of a dollar.
Second, Jane is
close to her family, especially her brother. Family has always been the most
important thing in my life…yes, even
more important than horses! My husband and I have been married for forty- nine years and have five wonderful
children and twelve incredible grandchildren. They mean everything to me.
Finally, Jane and
I are also goal-setters, and we don’t let anything get in the way of achieving
those goals. The fact that the Sand
Pounders were only taking men in their ranks to patrol the beaches along the U.S. coasts, didn’t stop her. She
found a way to serve her country using the talents that she knew she had.
I hope you will
enjoy reading “The Sand Pounders – Love and Drama on Horseback in WWII.” Please
post a review on Amazon
