Jim Panzee, our favorite #1 New York Times bestselling grumpy monkey, is feeling like quite the Scrooge this holiday season!

It's Christmas time in the jungle, and Jim just can't get into the holiday spirit. Then Norman offers Jim a festive green banana and Jim feels sick, making everything seem worse. All the other animals in the jungle are ready and eagerly awaiting Christmas, but Jim feels everything stinks. Norman tries to find the solution...and shows Jim that everything can be solved with a soothing cup of tea and time spent with a good friend.

MY REVIEW
Grumpy Monkey Oh, No! Christmas is a fun children's book perfect for the holiday season.
The story follows Grumpy Monkey (real name Jim) as he stomps his way through the jungle, pouting and complaining about everything. Everything stinks, and Jim is not happy. His animal friends and neighbors try to convince him that this time of year is magical, and he should be celebrating. But Jim doesn't want to hear it. He's grumpy, and nothing can change that. Or so Jim thinks.
This was such a cute story with a good message. I think young readers will enjoy the silliness of it all, including Jim's stomping and complaining. And when Jim realizes maybe he does have something worth celebrating after all, young readers will find themselves with a big smile on their faces once the story ends.
The illustrations are lovely and really bring the story to life, and the overall story itself is upbeat and fun thanks to the cadence of the words.
A definite must-read for the holiday season.
5 stars!

  1. Love the message of nothing is as bad as it seems and being with a friend is all it takes sometimes to get out of a bad mood. Great for kids to learn!
