My Review
Sometimes When I'm Mad is a children's book about big feelings. The story describes all the ways a child can manifest anger and how parents can help them manage those negative feelings. The book tells kids it's okay to feel mad. It's okay to be upset and angry about something. But sometimes those feelings can be overwhelming, so finding a way to manage them is the best thing to do.
I rather liked this book. As a parent to a teenage boy and an almost 7-year-old autistic son, I know all about big feelings. Especially frustration and anger. From them, especially. Being a kid is hard. But helping your child through the hard times is very rewarding, and the author showcases techniques parents can use when their children are mad. There are also resources in the back of the book for additional help, which I thought was a nice touch.
Also, the illustrations are done well, and the book itself is easy to read and relate to.
I would definitely recommend this one.
5 stars!
