MY REVIEW
When I'm With You is a sweet children's book about the power of friendship. It's got an easy-to-read rhyming scheme that will delight children of all ages, and younger readers will also enjoy the wonderful illustrations. Parents/adult readers will find the book nostalgic and perhaps even a bit emotional (if you're anything like me). While reading the book to my kiddo, it brought back memories of my grandma (who was one of my favorite people ever), and of my best childhood friend. She and I grew up together from the time we were 3 until high school graduation, and we kept touch for a few years after, but life tends to get in the way. And while we may have drifted apart, this book made me realize that no matter what, she will always be my best friend.
I think young readers will really love this book, because kids are just starting to discover the magic of friendship, and older readers (tweens/teens/adults) will love this book because it will resonate with them as they recall the very magic of finding that one best friend.
I highly recommend this wonderful book to readers of all ages.
