Bunster is an adorable board book for very young readers (ages 1-3/4). And although both of my kiddos are no longer in that age range (youngest is 7), I found this to be a sweet little story about friendship. It's considered an Easter story, but I think parents could read this to their young children at any time of the year. And while the font was a little more decorative and fancy (kinda like a cursive font), because it's more for parents to read to kids, it wasn't an issue. But older children who may want to read it might struggle with making out the words because of the font.
The illustrations are lovely and really do bring the story to life. And overall, it is an easy story to follow along with. I do think this board book would make a wonderful baby shower gift, or a birthday/Christmas/Easter gift for a newborn/very young child.
Guest Post
Hi all! This is Christine Panzer signing in to write a guest post!
Everyone has their way of going about their day, or routines
they do. Mine is really nothing special, but it could give you some insight
into how my creativity churns.
For me, it is obviously the morning starting from about 4 or
5 a.m., because that is when I have energy.
Sometimes, I’ll get up early around that time to just sit in
the studio and pet the cat. Sometimes I’ll have the extra oomph to work a
little on something, though that’s a rare occasion. Usually Ian, my husband, is
up by 6:30 when his bird chirping and waterfall running phone alarm wakes him
up. That’s when we’ll drive in our generic grey Honda Civic to a nearby hiking
spot to take a refreshing walk for about 45 minutes. Then it’s back to our end
unit condo, a shower and breakfast where we sit on our orange cloth couch and
watch an episode of something (currently Merlin) on our giant 4k screen (a
lucky purchase from a friend that was moving) while we eat and Kida our kitty,
sits on our laps.
Then, if Ian happens to be able to work from home that day,
we both head to the studio to do our individual jobs. Me, working on my passion
projects (more books, yay!) and Ian with his illustrious job at a local startup
company. I work for about 2 -3 hours at most till noon and my energy gives out.
That’s when I can be literally found laying on the couch for the rest of the
afternoon, browsing houses on the Zillow app on my phone and dreaming of owning
a dog and looking at dog listings on Petfinder. Yes, I literally just veg for a
whole afternoon each day. It’s embarrassing, but true.
Thanks a bunch to Jasmine for doing a book interview and
giving me a chance to write a blog post here! Stay sweet my honeys!
