EXCERPT
As the end of Summer arrived, Aydan turned four and his Mummy and Daddy gave him the biggest birthday party. It had all the cake, balloons, games and friends that you could possibly imagine and hope for!
His Mummy was super tired these days as she had another beautiful tiny baby growing inside of her tummy but she wanted to give him the most special day.
In a few short weeks, this little family of four would now become five and they were all SO excited!
The little baby boy had his beautiful nursery all set up and ready for his arrival into the world. His Mummy had neatly arranged all of the baby’s clothes, blankets, ornaments and had made the most peaceful space for Aydan’s little brother.
She would sit in there and fill the space with so much loving kindness, that it penetrated the entire home. Her heart was that big and overflowing.
His Mummy promised Aydan that he would love and adore his new baby brother. She explained that her heart was so big and full of love for Aydan that it was overflowing. Soon this little baby would get to feel her love pour onto him and that her love was limitless.

AUTHOR INTERVIEW
1. How do you select the names of your characters?
Initially, I had
named the characters Aryaan and Kaari, as they are the mix of my two sons Ari
and Kaiyaan. Since my children’s book was written about our story and the boys
were the main characters, I thought this would be perfect!
However, my husband thought that the names may be hard for readers to relate and connect to, so I changed them to Aydan and Kameron to resonate with a larger audience.
I still feel the connection to my boys when I read the story and know that when I wrote the book, that they were front and centre in my heart and soul.
2. What creature do you consider your
"spirit animal" to be?
I would say a
Labrador! They are cute, cuddly, fun and love to be around people…but also they
can bite if you annoy them…and they love to sleep!
3. If you were the last person on Earth, what
would you do?
I would find the
closest beach or harbour that I could, connect and really ground myself to
Mother Earth.
I would revel in
the one-on-one time together and completely immerse myself into the beauty and
perfection of her.
I would savour
every moment without distractions or having to ‘do’ and just ‘be’…as I would
know that the time left here would be uncertain.
4. What fictional character would you want to
be friends with in real life?
I would love to
be friends with Ernie from Sesame Street! I find him so adorable and cute!
He would be lots
of fun to be around and I know that my heart would feel full with him around
me!
5. Do you have any advice for aspiring writers?
I would say that
if you have an idea that you want to pursue in writing, to absolutely go for it
with all of your heart and soul.
I would say to
cast aside any fears and any layers of self-doubt that may hold you back from
your full creative potential.
If you have
something to say to the world, and you believe that the world will be a better
place with you sharing your message…then go for it!
Now is the only
time that exists…and do not wait for a ‘better’ time or ‘later’…as that time
may never arrive…and regret can feel heavier to carry around than fear.
6. What book do you wish you had written?
The Power of Now
by Eckhart Tolle. I find this book to be so powerful and so wonderful!
I would love to
share a message that is so applicable to the entire world, and described in
such an articulate way as he does. I would feel so incredibly proud to have
written such a masterpiece.
7. Tell us 10 fun facts about yourself!
1. I am scared
of spiders and snakes (yet live in Australia!)
2. My secret
talent is to be able to touch my nose with my tongue!
3. My favourite
activity to relax, would be to sit at a café or comfortable space and watch the
water or people passing by with a coffee.
4. I am an
extroverted introvert. I love being around people and need interaction to
thrive…but I love to sit, reflect, journal and have some silence each and every
day…otherwise my nervous system feels overwhelmed!
5. I am a very
stubborn person…it has reduced in time, but one of my traits that I still need
to work on!
6. I love to
bake
7. I really had
no clue about myself until my mid-thirties
8. Exercise is a
non-negotiable for my health and wellness…even just a short stroll. When I
don’t exercise, I feel less patient and tolerant!
9. I have no
spatial awareness! (driving, parking, looking at maps…you name it!)
10. I was scared
of dogs until we had our own…now I can’t walk by one without patting or talking
to them!
8. What is your favourite genre to read?
I love all spiritual and ‘self-help’/new
age type books! I haven’t read fiction for many years, and tend to gravitate
towards books where I can learn something and grow from its content.
I love Eckhart Tolle, Dr Shefali Tsabary
and Gabby Bernstein as my top authors!
I love to constantly grow and evolve…and reflect about ways I can improve and be my best self.
