2. If you could tell your younger writing self anything, what would it be? To believe that I can do it despite whatever might be thrown at me
3. What book do you feel is under-appreciated? How about overrated? I have too many books that I feel are under-appreciated. Overrated – Fifty Shades of Grey 😉
4. Favorite childhood memory involving books? |Going to the library every Saturday with my best friend Joe, where we would fight over who got the latest Stephen King or Richard Laymon books. He reckons he won 😉
5. If you could dine with any literary character, who would it be and why? Oh jeez, not sure to be honest. Depends on my mood of that day and which book LOL.
6. What fantastical fictional world would you want to live in (if any) given the chance? This is TOO easy and I don’t have to think about it, I have two places – naughty I know – Narnia and Middle Earth.
7. Did you want to be an author when you grew up? Yes and No. My first choice after being an accountant was to be a movie critic as I am HUGE movie geek. But numbers were always my strong point, but then who wouldn’t love to be an author!
8. If you had to describe yourself in three words, what would they be? Marlene, Bubbly, loud
9. What is your most unusual writing quirk? Not sure if I have one……..will have to get back to you
10. What’s one movie you like recommending to others? Too many again, Reservoir Dogs, Lord of the Rings, Dirty Dancing, Labyrinth just to name some…..
11. If you could own any animal as a pet, what would it be? Tiger! Without a doubt.
12. Have you ever met anyone famous? Yes, a few. Watford Football Team throughout the years, Michael Jackson, Sir Ian McKellan and loads of authors
13. What is the first book that made you cry? Oh gosh, I can’t remember to be honest! I use to only read Horror, so would be worrying if they made me cry!
14. How long, on average, does it take you to write a book? It took me an intense 3 months to write Ouija, the current book is about the same and I am only half way -doh!
15. How do you select the names of your characters? The names, some just come to me, and some I look at the meaning behind the names and some were on my list of naming the mini me
16. What creature do you consider your "spirit animal" to be? Erm…. I think right now a sloth!
17. What are your top 5 favorite movies? I may have already named them but Reservoir Dogs, Labryinth, Dirty Dancing, Lord of the Rings (all 3) The Little Mermaid
18. If you were the last person on Earth, what would you do? Cry a lot, then sit down, take a breath and find the nearest book store followed by movie store
19. What fictional character would you want to be friends with in real life? Today, Legolas, just so I can stare into those eyes haha
20. Do you have any advice for aspiring writers? Just write, write it all down. Get the story down and then you can grow the book after, but get the bare bones down.
21. What book do you wish you had written? One Rainy Night by Richard Laymon – it’s the book I know got me into Horror and I wish I could write something to encourage people to read horror.

9. My nickname of Zooloo, happened because the IT guy at my job spelt my Zoo-Lee 10. I was obsessed with Arnold Schwarzenegger when I first saw him in Total Recall when I saw his muscles when he used a drill. I learned how to spell his surname and I was adamant I would marry him…… enough said
23. If you could live in any time period, what would it be and why? Same time as Henry VIII as long as I wasn’t one of his wives!
24. What is your favorite genre to read? Hands down… HORROR
