Ouija by Zoe-Lee O'Farrell - Book Tour

Book Blurb

The only thing for certain is the deaths were no accident.

Rayner High School once a prestigious school stands in ruins after such a terrible event.

A year later, a group of friends return to the abandoned school and their nightmare begins.

Something wants to get out and won’t take NO for an answer…

Author Interview
1.    What would you consider to be your Kryptonite as an author? I think it would probably be not having any ideas and if I did have an idea whether I could write it!

2.   If you could tell your younger writing self anything, what would it be? To believe that I can do it despite whatever might be thrown at me

3.    What book do you feel is under-appreciated? How about overrated? I have too many books that I feel are under-appreciated. Overrated – Fifty Shades of Grey 😉

4.   Favorite childhood memory involving books? |Going to the library every Saturday with my best friend Joe, where we would fight over who got the latest Stephen King or Richard Laymon books. He reckons he won 😉

5.   If you could dine with any literary character, who would it be and why? Oh jeez, not sure to be honest. Depends on my mood of that day and which book LOL.

6.   What fantastical fictional world would you want to live in (if any) given the chance? This is TOO easy and I don’t have to think about it, I have two places – naughty I know – Narnia and Middle Earth.

7.   Did you want to be an author when you grew up? Yes and No. My first choice after being an accountant was to be a movie critic as I am HUGE movie geek. But numbers were always my strong point, but then who wouldn’t love to be an author!

8.   If you had to describe yourself in three words, what would they be? Marlene, Bubbly, loud

9.   What is your most unusual writing quirk? Not sure if I have one……..will have to get back to you

10.   What’s one movie you like recommending to others? Too many again, Reservoir Dogs, Lord of the Rings, Dirty Dancing, Labyrinth just to name some…..

11.  If you could own any animal as a pet, what would it be? Tiger! Without a doubt.

12. Have you ever met anyone famous? Yes, a few. Watford Football Team throughout the years, Michael Jackson, Sir Ian McKellan and loads of authors

13.    What is the first book that made you cry? Oh gosh, I can’t remember to be honest! I use to only read Horror, so would be worrying if they made me cry!

14.    How long, on average, does it take you to write a book? It took me an intense 3 months to write Ouija, the current book is about the same and I am only half way -doh!

15.   How do you select the names of your characters? The names, some just come to me, and some I look at the meaning behind the names and some were on my list of naming the mini me

16.   What creature do you consider your "spirit animal" to be? Erm…. I think right now a sloth!

17.   What are your top 5 favorite movies? I may have already named them but Reservoir Dogs, Labryinth, Dirty Dancing, Lord of the Rings (all 3) The Little Mermaid

18.   If you were the last person on Earth, what would you do? Cry a lot, then sit down, take a breath and find the nearest book store followed by movie store

19.    What fictional character would you want to be friends with in real life? Today, Legolas, just so I can stare into those eyes haha

20.   Do you have any advice for aspiring writers? Just write, write it all down. Get the story down and then you can grow the book after, but get the bare bones down.

21.   What book do you wish you had written? One Rainy Night by Richard Laymon – it’s the book I know got me into Horror and I wish I could write something to encourage people to read horror.

22.   Tell us 10 fun facts about yourself! 1.    I am only 5ft

2.   I had trials to play Badminton for the UK Olympic team

3.   I met Michael Jackson

6. I know all the words to the film Labyrinth 7. I am a season ticket holder with Watford FC, and have been going since the 80s and I was a mascot 8. I went to University in Stoke on Trent and that’s how I got the nickname of Marlene (Only Fools and Horses)

9.   My nickname of Zooloo, happened because the IT guy at my job spelt my Zoo-Lee 10. I was obsessed with Arnold Schwarzenegger when I first saw him in Total Recall when I saw his muscles when he used a drill. I learned how to spell his surname and I was adamant I would marry him…… enough said

23.  If you could live in any time period, what would it be and why? Same time as Henry VIII as long as I wasn’t one of his wives!

24. What is your favorite genre to read? Hands down… HORROR

 Author Bio

Zoé O’Farrell grew up in Watford but left the town life to live by the sea down at the White Cliffs of Dover.

She spends her days working with numbers before escaping in the evening to the world of words and movies. Her go-to relaxation is watching a scary movie or reading a terrifying book!

She is a book blogger and tour organiser just to keep her extra busy. When she is not reading or writing, you can usually find her watching Watford FC or at a gig. Failing that she can be found rolling her eyes at her husband as he acts the same age as her spitfire of a Mini-Me whilst separating her two cats.

Ouija is her debut novel.

Please try not to spam posts with the same comments over and over again. Authors like seeing thoughtful comments about their books, not the same old, "I like the cover" or "sounds good" comments. While that is nice, putting some real thought and effort in is appreciated. Thank you.
