My Review **Disclosure**

Episode one of A Thousand Tomorrows starts off with a happy moment. Or so it seems. A woman has just given birth to her second child. Her first child is in the hospital room with her, eagerly awaiting the arrival of his father, who was delayed due to a storm. But when he arrives, things aren't as happy as they were just moments ago. Fast forward, and that little boy in the hospital room is now a grown man who also happens to be a bull rider. Cody Gunner is the best of the best when it comes to the rodeo. Everyone loves him, and he lets that power seemingly go to his head, acting cocky and brash. But the one person who can melt his heart is his younger brother, Carl Joseph. We get flashbacks of what happened after the birth of Carl Joseph, who is special needs. Cody's dad, a well-known football player, abandons the family, leaving Cody and his mom to care for Carl Joseph on their own. Now, Cody is ultra-protective of his younger brother. And he resent his father still for leaving them. We're also introduced to Ali, a competitive barrel rider who is doing everything for the sister she lost. But Ali is sick, and her rodeo days may be numbered. But she's determined to keep competing, no matter what. I went into this show knowing nothing about it. I hadn't read the book(s) and wasn't really sure what to expect. But I quite liked the first episode. It's a nice introduction to the characters while also giving us (the viewers) some mild drama and complications that you'll want to see the characters persevere through. I really liked the relationship between Cody and his brother, Carl Joseph. As someone who has a disabled twin sister and spent our childhood doing what I could to protect her from some not-so-nice people, I could relate to their bond. I could also relate to the whole absentee father thing too. I'm curious to see where the show will go, since I will be watching it without knowing the plot of the actual book or how the book plays out. I'm already invested in Ali and Cody, and I'm hoping they manage to get some semblance of a happy ever after, even if it's only for a short amount of time. I'm definitely looking forward to the rest of the show. If you're a fan of romance, drama, and/or the rodeo (or if you've read the book), you'll definitely want to check out A Thousand Tomorrows when it premieres on Pure Flix on February 24th.
