My Review
Craving Beauty is a unique fairy tale with hints of Beauty and the Beast and Cinderella. At least that's how I viewed it while reading it. It's an intriguing novel, and if you're a fan of fairy tale retellings, this one just might be for you.
The story follows Vynasha, a young woman with a bit of magic. The villagers think she's a witch and keep their distance from her, but they don't hesitate to say cruel things to her when she does dare venture into the village.
Vynasha's father and brother leave on a journey north, and with them gone, Vynasha is left with her sisters and nephew. Unfortunately for Vynasha, a fire breaks out and her whole family perishes. However, Vynasha uses her magic to bring her nephew back. But doing so comes with consequences.
This incident sets off the events throughout the rest of the book.
Vynasha heads out on a journey of her own to try and find a cure for Wyll (her nephew), as well as her only remaining family. But her journey won't be easy, and danger lurks in every corner.
I enjoyed this book, and I'm curious to see where this series goes. The world building is very good. Very vivid. I felt like I could imagine myself walking alongside Vynasha.
The plot is engaging and keeps you invested, even though it does have a few hiccups along the way. Also, the ending is a bit of a cliffhanger, so be warned if that's something you're not a fan of.
If you're looking for a slightly different Beauty and the Beast retelling, check out Craving Beauty.
4 stars.

Please try not to spam posts with the same comments over and over again. Authors like seeing thoughtful comments about their books, not the same old, "I like the cover" or "sounds good" comments. While that is nice, putting some real thought and effort in is appreciated. Thank you.
