However, as a long-buried tragedy slowly comes to light, the boy will question everything he believes in… including his destiny

“How long are you gonna stay asleep? I don’t have all day, Mr hero” comes an unfamiliar and firm voice that speaks to the boy. Opening his eyes, Luke finds himself within pure darkness.

“Where... where am I”? He asks, finding himself floating within a mysteriously dark space. Glancing up, he sees a ball of blue and white light - shining immensely. From within it, the same voice replies “you have fallen. You were killed by that old wizard and now your soul is drifting, somewhere in the afterlife.”

“That is right, the last memory I have was of being struck by that horrible wizard. He at- tacked Heline and so many people lost their lives. I thought that I was so close to escaping.”

The ball of light drifts closer to the boy, before responding “well, all is not lost, Mr hero. For I have come to answer your earlier prayer. Behold...”

Before the boy’s eyes, the ball of light changes form to become that of a grown woman. Dressed in thin robes, her face is covered by a veil before she introduces herself. “I am Diana, di- vine goddess of the blue moon. I have heard your prayer and wish to address it.”

Astounded by the sight before him, the boy stays speechless - looking upon the image of a real goddess. Her aura is humbling - causing the boy to perform a half-hearted bow, as though his very soul were submitting to her presence alone. As he digests her words, Luke remembers the ear- lier plea he made to the blue moon.

“So... have you come to offer me a new life? A life akin to everybody else?”

“Yes... and no. I will grant you the life you seek: to live like a normal boy with a loving family. Before that, however, you must first become even more different than before and fulfil a task for me. I want you to kill the wizard that has threatened your land.”

Her proposition astounds and confuses the boy, who is unable to tell whether she is being serious or mocking him. As her face stays hidden behind the veil, he wonders what the deity looks like. Could it be a

beautiful being or a she-devil that has come to trick him? He assumes the latter, for surely it would be impossible to stand against a wizard alone.
