Your Potential by Rebecca Mann Kelly
“Potential” means “capability to become something.” Did you know that there is no limit to what
you can achieve in your lifetime?
If history has proven
anything, it’s that nothing - not socio-economic status, color, gender or any
other preexisting characteristic can actually limit our potential as humans.
Let me give you some
examples. Albert Einstein didn’t speak until he was three, he was
dyslexic. Theodor Seuss Geisel (Dr.
Seuss) was initially rejected by 27 publishers. Walt Disney was fired by his
newspaper editor because of lack of imagination and no good ideas. Roger
Bannister broke the “impossible barrier” 4-minute mile in 1954, and now it has
been broken by hundreds. Joan of Arc was a poor peasant who led the French Army
to victory during the 100 years war.
Rosa Parks’ bravery started a whole movement. Amelia Earhart was the first woman to fly
across the Atlantic.
If you have a dream
burning in your heart, nothing and no one can actually stop you from achieving
it.
What will stop you is
yourself. Your belief in yourself. And
whether or not you actually believe in your own ability to do something that no
other human on earth is able to do - the thing you are supposed to do with your
unique talent, perspective, passion and energy. The only thing holding you back
is how you see and value yourself and what you do or don’t do about it.
Your potential is
unlimited. Will you give yourself
permission to become something great?
“All things are possible to
him who believes.” (Mark 9:23)
Sounds good. Nice cover.
