My Review
Maya's Tiny Warriors is a fun, educational book for young readers to learn about their immune system and how it works to help fight off illnesses.
On the first day of school, Maya wakes up feeling sick. She's got a cough and the sniffles, and her mom tells her she has a fever and needs to stay home. Maya is disappointed, but she spends the day resting. Inside her body, though, something amazing is happening. Her immune system is waging war against the germs making Maya sick. The B-cells, T-cells, and Macrophages are working together to vanquish those pesky invaders. But will Maya be better for the second day of school? Or will her immune system have to fight another battle?
This is a delightful book that will engage young readers and teach them what happens when they get a cold or the flu. It's a bright, colorful book with wonderful illustrations and is relatively easy to read. Parents may have to help their kiddos with some of the bigger words like lymphatic and macrophages, though.
Overall, this is a great book that should be on every parent's bookshelf.
5 stars!
